Pretoria, 25 March 2026 - Unchain Our Children (UOC) extends their gratitude to Citizen and Rekord newspapers for their recent coverage of the vital workshop that educated learners on digital safety and the importance of responsible online habits.

In an article titled "Workshop educates youth on digital safety", the publications highlighted UOC’s ongoing efforts, in partnership with Brooklyn SAPS, the Moses Madiba Foundation, and ProShield, to equip young people with knowledge about online grooming, exploitation, sexting risks, and the dangers of sharing personal information. The workshop, held at St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Hillcrest, empowered learners with practical prevention strategies and reporting channels while stressing the role of parents in monitoring and open communication.

UOC appreciates this media support for amplifying a critical message: online predators often use fake profiles to target victims of any age, making awareness and collaboration essential in protecting our children.

Through interactive, age-appropriate workshops delivered across pre-schools, primary, and secondary schools — as well as to parents — UOC continues to deliver tangible benefits to the community. These initiatives not only raise awareness but also build safer digital environments, foster confidence in young people to seek help, and encourage communities to engage with stakeholders dedicated to child wellbeing.

By partnering with committed media outlets like the Caxton Newspaper Group, UOC strengthens its reach, engages broader audiences, and drives meaningful social change in the fight against child exploitation in all its forms.
