Organized by Breaking the Darkness, this event isn't just about personal achievement—it's a powerful awareness and fundraising initiative supporting Unchain Our Children in their fight against human rights violations, child abuse, and human trafficking across South Africa. The athletes' grit in overcoming physical and mental hurdles echoes the remarkable resilience of trafficking survivors, fostering a shared spirit of perseverance and hope.

Human trafficking remains a dire crisis in South Africa, with an estimated 155,000 people trapped in modern slavery, the majority being women and children, and over 70% exploited for sexual purposes. Globally, sexual exploitation accounts for 79% of cases, and children make up nearly 20% of victims, with rates even higher in parts of Africa.

Events like Notties100 shine a vital light on this hidden epidemic, raising funds that directly benefit victims and survivors through Unchain Our Children's essential services: rescue operations, trauma support, counselling, legal aid, and prevention programs.
By participating, you help empower survivors to rebuild their lives, educate communities to prevent exploitation, and train officials to enforce anti-trafficking laws—ultimately breaking cycles of abuse and restoring dignity.
Join us to make a tangible difference while embracing the thrill of the challenge!
