During Unchain Our Children’s Christmas celebrations for the Danville community, innovative outdoor activities and games were arranged by Nicky McDonald, UOC’s senior social worker. Face painting was popular and the children lined up eagerly.
In a tech-driven society with even young children are glued to their devices, outdoor play is almost non-existing, hence the focus on the interesting activities Unchain put together. The children happily participated and in the process develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, and thinking outside the box.
When children play, stress is released and energy burned. Social interaction builds confidence and relationships.
Clean air, a safe environment and people who care about them, made for a great day and the children were carefree, had fun and a good time.
