SAFETY FIRST FOR TUKKIES AT THE FIELDS STUDENT CENTRE HATFIELD UOC Addressed GBV

On Saturday, 5 April, a group of 30 students gathered at The Fields Student Centre in Hatfield where Unchain Our Children, in conjunction with City Property spoke to them on safety. Aspects of Gender-Based Violence, its staggering statistics and the Cycle of Abuse were addressed.


Amy Arnold, UOC’s Specialist Operative, well versed in the subject and a popular guest speaker around the country, touched on the origin, signs, and how to break the GBV cycle and where to get help.


Wayne van Onselen, Founder and Executive Director of Unchain shared with the audience a testimony of a GBV survivor and pointed out that there is a way out because there is help, victims are not alone.



A representative from Hatfield CID, City Improvement District, spoke on the importance of safety and their activities to keep the campus district secure for students.
