UNCHAIN OUR CHILDREN FOUNDER GUEST AT US EMBASSY INDEPENDENCE DAY EVENT

Wayne van Onselen, Founder and Executive Director of Unchain Our Children, attended a vibrant Independence Day event at the US Embassy in Pretoria today.

US Ambassador David Greene and other dignitaries spoke at the celebration, which featured an impressive Marine Color Guard ceremony. The event marked 249 years of American independence, ahead of the nation’s 250th milestone anniversary in 2026.

Unchain Our Children deeply appreciates America’s significant contributions to combating child abuse and trafficking. Through initiatives like the U.S. Department of State’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report, the U.S. provides guidance and support to South Africa. The United States of America inspires excellence.

The synergy between the two countries to dismantle trafficking networks, which targeted child sexual exploitation across multiple countries is admirable. These partnerships aim to protect vulnerable children, prosecute perpetrators, and raise awareness to prevent exploitation. Joint operations, have led to significant outcomes – arresting of traffickers and the rescuing of victims.
