Joining the Starfish year-end Christmas celebrations recently, and experiencing first hand the dedication, love and care for abandoned babies, brought renewed respect and awe to this partner organizations’ immense investment in young lives. The event was filled with fun and laughter and joy.
Gratitude for UOCs assistance and support was expressed by Janice Spencer, founder member and manager of Starfish Babies Project, “They are getting things done because they have a heart for the kids and they are professional!”
Would it matter to save one Star Fish by putting it back in the sea? Yes, for that one it would, goes the Starfish parable. Similarly, for each of the 2.8 million orphans in South Africa, support would literally be life-saving. And that is the purpose of Starfish Babies Project.
“Our wish for 2025 is that fostering and adoption will be fast-tracked despite a lot of hurdles. We also have been blessed by biological parents that had a change of heart and came back for their babies. Either way we will be grateful and blessed”, said Janice.
Starfish Babies Project exists to provide support for vulnerable children through places of safety, foster parents and safe houses.
