A recent outreach by Unchain Our Children together with their Junior Battle Angels from Oos Moot Secondary School’s Oosie Lig group, celebrated and honoured Gracious Love, place of safety for babies in Wonderboom Pretoria for their dedication to their cause. Joining the outreach were Precious Blessings and Sparrows Nest.
Oosie Lig Junior Battle Angels donated generous gifts of clothing to each house of safety. The outreach also generated awareness for places of safety, so the general public and business communities can have the opportunity to consider funding/donation for their noble and essential role they play in providing a safe haven for abused children and babies who have nowhere to turn because, often their biological parents and extended family are absent or even guilty of the neglect and abuse.
Unchain Our Children prioritises teamwork and the success was evident in the presence of Oosie-lig Junior Battle Angels, the staff of Oosie-lig, Charny from Gracious Love, Heidi from Precious Blessings and Lerina from Sparrows Nest.
“I have such appreciation for Unchain’s Friends and Partners, showing their love and care, not only towards the babies and children in their care, but also towards each other. This way our impact is so much stronger and joint operations are strengthening the necessary bond we build which enables us to serve optimally,” Wayne van Onselen, Founder and Executive Director of Unchain Our Children said in expressing his gratefulness to every participant.
The places of Safety which UOC are partnering with, form one of the strongest links in the liberation process of abused babies and children. Wayne also pointed out their great value and further expressed his admiration for their tireless dedication to young lives, their assistance and support for UOC over time.
Unchain Our Children is extending a heartfelt thank you and honour-salute to: Oosie Lig for their donations, Hieda’s Omgee Warm Lyfies, knitting and crocheting group for their gifts, Monique Frenkel and Tiny from Tiny Sparrows for their nappy donation. All their gifts, together with the Unchain gift packs for each house were a group token of love, a tangible touch to make a difference where it is needed most.
